Peony Lane Studio is owned and operated by Rachel Mackenzie. Rachel is an award-winning Fine Art Portrait Photographer based in Ocean Grove, Victoria.

Rachel has a genuine love of fine art photography and has been a professional photographer for over 9 years. Rachel provides quality, styled and authentic photographs that clients can treasure for life. 

Rachel attended Photography Studies College in Melbourne undertaking in the Advanced Diploma Of Photography.

Since then, she has added to her personal development and eduction by completing a number of courses and mentorships with industry leading photographers;

  • Fine art Portraiture, styling and retouching with Gemmy Woud- Binnendijk.
  • One on one - Children Fine Art Portraiture Course with Paulina Duczman.
  • Conceptual Fine Art Photo Artistry with Brooke Shaden and  Sebastian Michaels.

Rachel has won numerous awards through ViewBug, The Portrait Masters and other online competitions; 

  • Portrait Masters 2019: Teen & Senior Portrait - Bronze award
  • VIEWBUG 2019: Winner in Redefine Selfies. Gold award
  • VIEWBUG 2019: Community Choice Award - Portrait Photographer
  • VIEWBUG 2018: People's Choice in Tenderness Photo Contest

Rachel is a member of The Societies Of Photographers. As experts in the photography field, The Societies of Photographers manage eight internationally recognised photographic organisations. Rachel’s submissions have earned her acceptance for wedding, portrait and fashion expertise. 

Rachel also volunteers as a photographer with a local organisation called Geelong Animal Rescue Service (GARS).  GARS volunteer their time, effort and resources towards the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of domestic animals. Their  mission is to provide a voice for abandoned, neglected and unloved animals. GARS has a ‘no kill’ policy and works closely with Victorian pounds to help save lives. Rachel shares this passion and assists by photographing animals that are ready for adoption.
